Maths! Week 5 Term 3

Hello my lovelies! ❤ :)

Welcome back to my blog! Today I am gonna talk about my maths for this week! Enjoy!

We did some more problem solving this week. The question for this week was

This took me so long to figure out because i cannot do basic maths. In the end I did it by doing 10% of 1420.00 which was 142, and then doing 5 percent of 142 which was 71. Then I added 71 to 142 to 1420 to get the original number without the discount

So yeah!

I hope you all enjoyed my blog for this week! Have you ever been to Dubai? Tell me if you liked it in the comments! Bye!

Maths! Week 4 Term 3

 Hello my lovelies! ❤

Welcome back to my blog! Today I am gonna tell you about maths! Enjoy!

For maths we looked at more problem solving. We talked about the rugby games, and also our questions were about the tickets.

The question we answered was:

The Crusaders played the Highlanders at Orangetheory Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Tickets are $24.00.

They were running a deal online, which deal would be the best one to go for if I was buying a ticket for myself and a friend?

1/10 off both tickets

Buy 1 get 1 half price

¼  off 1 ticket

Our answer was that the buy one get one half price was the cheapest!
Tell me how you solved it in the comments! Bye! ❤

Maths! Week 2 Term 3

Hello my lovelies!

Welcome back! Today I am going to talk about maths. Enjoy!

In maths this week we looked at more problem solving. The question I looked at, with my group (Sienna + Petra) was this;

My head was kind of sore after reading this. I'm not the best at maths, so I kind of struggled with this problem, but here was our working, to get the answer. (its the blue theme on the top, also ignore the ugly layout 😂)

So yeah!

I hope you all enjoyed my blog today! Have you ever made a bullet journal? If so, tell me some ideas in the comments! I'm starting one soon. Bye!

Maths! Week 1 Term 3

Hello my lovelies!

Welcome back to term 3! I hope you had a lovely break, but lets get right into it!

For maths this week, we had to focus on problem solving. The question that me and my maths mate chose was; Is Kaupeka 1/5 or over/under of the school? This question was kind of confusing, until basic maths decided to show up.  My maths mate (Makayla) and I, were kind of struggling to understand, but it ended up fine. The final answer is that Kaupeka is 23 more than 1/5 of the school.

So yeah!

I hope you guys enjoyed my blog! Do you know how many people are at your school or work? Tell me in the comments. Have a wonderful day! Bye!

Maths! Term 2 Week 11

Hello my lovelies!

Welcome back to another blog! Today I am going to tell you about my maths! Enjoy..

Maths this week was really interesting. We looked at shapes, and got to create them too! We did 3 tasks this week for maths, as we were learning in our homebases. I am going to share my first task and second task. The first task was about naming shapes. I thought this was really interesting, as we got to look at each shape and the name of shapes too. We also checked out what vertices, faces and edges are for shapes! Here is my DLO.

The second task was making shapes with multi-link cubes. We looked at a diagram, explaining what shape we had to make. We were supposed to do it in colour coordination, but the colours were a bit mismatched, and hard to find multiple of the same colour, without taking it off other people. The next images are shapes we recreated best we could, using what the diagram told us to do.

So yeah!

I hope you guys enjoyed my blog today! Have you ever used multi-link cubes? What did you think of them? Tell me in the comments. Have an amazing day! Bye!

Maths - Week 10 Term 2

Hello my lovelies! Welcome back! Today, I am going to tell you about my maths this week. Remember to comment some blog title ideas for writing, reading or maths. Enjoy!

I focused on doing rounding and compensating this week for maths. I did this last week, and in week seven as well. We looked at doing strategies for multiplication and division, the same as last week. I already understood this pretty good, so I decided to help some of my friends. We looked at doing the DLO, which was pretty easy for me because I already knew how to do the strategy, so I am mainly focusing on helping others with it, like I said before. We had to explain to others how to do the strategy, and show 6 questions for the strategy. So yeah. Here is my DLO for this week..

So yeah!
I hope you all have an amazing day! Have you ever been to a theme park? What one, and would you recommend it? Tell me what it was like in the comments! Bye!

Maths - Week 9 Term 2

Hello my lovelies! Welcome back! Today I am going to tell you about maths, but first, happy alert level 1! Also, I need some help with titles for my blogs, If you could comment one title per blog, it would really help me out, because all I want is to make quality content for my lovely viewers! Anyways, enjoy my blog.

Our maths workshop this week was about rounding and compensating. I did this one last week, but I was kind of confused as to how to do it, so I took the workshop again. We focused on how to do division with decimals, but I can't do that well, so it took some time to master. I am really happy with my work for this week! We also focused on using decimals in both multiplication and division. That was a bit tricky. But I ended up doing fine. Here is my work for this week!

So yeah!

I hope you guys have an absolutely wonderful day or night! Have you ever gone swimming with dolphins? Tell me about it in the comments, and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Now remember, give me some blog title ideas, for maths, reading and writing! Bye!

Maths - Week 8 Term 2

Hello my lovelies! Welcome back to my blog! Today I am going to tell you about maths. Enjoy!

So for maths this week, we got to do different strategies, these included, reversibility, place value, proportional adjustments and rounding and compensating. My favourite is place value, or at least my favourite out of these. The questions for each strategy either had multiplication or multiplication and division. These were surprisingly easy once you got the hang of them. We had to choose out of beginner, stepping up or advanced for the level of difficulty. Next we solved all of the equations, and then we made a DLO showing that we understand the strategy of our choice. I will now tell you a few of the questions I answered!
47 x 4
34 x 3
35 x 6
48 divided by 6
64 divided by 8
186 x 4
Give them a go! Tell me your answers in the comments!

Now I will share my DLO! Here it is!

So yeah!

I hope you guys enjoyed my blog today! Have you ever watched the Powerpuff Girls (the theme of my maths)? If so, tell me your favourite character! Mine is Buttercup as you can tell! I hope you guys have a wonderful day! Bye!

Maths - Week 7 Term 2!

Hello my lovelies! Welcome back to my blog! Today I am going to tell you about my maths this week. Enjoy

For maths this week we did equal adjustments, or doubling and halving. This strategy was kind of confusing at first, but I got the hang of it after a while. I got really confused on division using doubling and halving because it included a lot of extra steps. Anyways, here is my diagram explaining how to use doubling and halving!

So yeah!
I hope you guys enjoyed my blog! Can you do doubling and halving? Show me an example in the comments! Bye!

Self-Isolation Schoolwork! (Maths)

Hello my lovelies! Welcome back! I am going to tell you about my maths this week! Enjoy!

Maths this week was about graphs. This was actually really easy for me. Our first task was to make a graph out of some information on our site. I had to get my dad to help, because I was kinda confused at first. Then we had to make our own graph, out of our own information. I used a coin toss, but others counted cars or rolled dice. Then we had to make statements on our graphs, we tried to find information, but it was really hard. We ended up using a slide our teacher created for some of our statements. Here are my graphs! (The first one is the data from the site, the second is my own personal one, with my statements)

Yeah! That's it. Have you ever made a graph? Tell me in the comments! Have a wonderful day, and keep safe! Bye! ❤️

Maths!

Hello my lovelies! Today I am going to tell you about my maths for this week! We did rounding and compensating! Hope you enjoy my blog!

This week our maths focus has been rounding and compensating. We did this with decimals too. We were asked to make a poster about our knowledge on rounding and compensating after we understood what the focus was. The questions were a little hard but super fun! I worked on my poster with my friend. Here it is!

Hopefully this can help you with these maths problems!

Thanks for reading guys! What is 756 - 368? Tell me in the comments! Hope you guys enjoyed my blog today! Bye! ❤️

Maths!!

Hello my lovelies! Hope you enjoyed my last blog! I am here today to tell you about an oddly fun maths create task! Enjoy!

We have obviously been doing maths this week. So during this weeks session, our focus has been doing relative frequencies. We were tasked with doing a maths game where we dropped a counter on a board that looked like this 100 times! I'll tell you more about it after the diagram
So like I said above, we had to drop a counter on it 100 times. None of us made it to 100, but most of us made it to 50. We had to draw out a table looking like this
Counter Drop  |   F  |
Inside              |
Outside           |
If a counter landed like this

It'd be considered out. If it landed like this

It'd be considered in. Then we had to tally how many times we got it in and out, fraction it, and turn it into a relative frequency. I am not finished this yet, but so far it has been really fun.

I hope you guys enjoyed! Random question, where exactly is Thailand located? Tell me your answer in the comments! I hope you guys enjoyed! See you next time. Bye! ❤️

Maths Video

Hello my lovely people! Today I am going to show you my maths for week five! Enjoy!

So for maths, we did a bingo card. We had multiple things on there unrelated to maths, like reading, but our main one was maths. We did stairs to squares. We had a stair like structure ↓

We had to show how we saw how the pattern was growing, I did it like this ↓

After that we created a video on our working for the other questions, here is mine.
Video
Hope you enjoyed my video and blog and learnt something new! What is the hardest maths task you've ever learnt? Comment what it was! See you all! Bye! ❤️
