PBL!

Hello my lovelies! Welcome! Today I am going to do a reflection on my PBL! Enjoy!

So as you know, I recently performed my PBL live. There was a choice between talks, poetry slams, podcasts and dramas. I chose poetry slams. We spent weeks and weeks making our masterpieces. And finally, they were done! Here is mine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGqnQ54TzEM.

Reflection:
I think overall I did alright. I believe I could have been more confident with my presentation of this topic. I am happy with the length and speed I went at, but maybe could have used a clearer voice, and more complex languages, like rhetorical questions, and things like that. I think I have told others about how real sexism is, and how to stop it. I hope other were impacted and affected by this.

That is all! I will see you all next term. Any suggestions for free choice blogs? Comment them! Goodbye my lovelies! See you!! ❤️

Diana Isaac!

Hello my lovelies! Today I am going to tell you a bit about our Diana Isaac trips! Enjoy!

So for term 2, we have been going to Diana Isaac, to do activities with all of the people living there. I did art with pastels, but there was baking, balloon sports, technology and bingo. We walked over to Diana Isaac every Friday for the people who go. We get to go once a term. I think. We got one or two people to talk to and draw with.

That is all I have today. Have you ever done this before? If so comment your answer! Bye! ❤️

You Might Want to See This...

Hello my lovelies! Today I am going to show you my self portrait art challenge! Enjoy!

So we were challenged with the hard task of making a self portrait on Google Drawings. How do you do this you ask? Well there is a tool under the line category called polyline. We had to take a picture of ourselves, and trace the outside using the polyline tool. We started with face and neck, and the ear was the hardest part of that. Next we did the hair, the ear was the hardest part of that too. Next we did the clothes, of course my school uniform, the blouse was probably the hardest part of that. After that we had to do the shading. We outlined the shaded areas of our face and lined them up on our assembled polyline face. Next we did the eyes and eyebrows, which by far were the hardest part. Mine just doesn't look that good. I kinda look like a gorilla. Anyways, enjoy!

Thanks for reading! Have you ever tried doing this? If so who did you do? Answer in the comments! Bye! ❤️

Super Sports!

Hello my lovelies! Today I am going to be doing a blog about winter sport! Enjoy!

So this term we have been doing winter sport, we have a choice between four sports. Football, netball, hockey and rugby. We had to have a first choice and a second choice. My first choice was netball, and my second was hockey. I had to trial netball, and trial hockey, but I forgot my shin pads and mouth guard, so I couldn't. I got into the netball c-team. I play goal defence. Every Thursday, we go to winter sports to play against other schools. We have mixed year 7/8 teams. I can't remember every exact score, but last week we tied. I enjoy playing winter sports, and look forward to it next year again! I hope I make it into the b-team though!

Hope you all enjoyed my blog today! Do you play any netball? Answer in the comments! Bye! ❤️

Reading! School is Cool!

Hello my lovelies! Welcome back! Today I am going to tell you about Week 8 Reading! Enjoy!

So we started off with a KWL chart (know, wondering, learn).

From the title, Underground Soldiers, we had to build up ideas on what we thought the story was about. I thought it was about soildiers that worked underground. Turns out I was kind of right. It was about the soldiers making tunnels underground. Then we had to fill out the chart, apart from the "learnt" area. And once we had read the story we got to finish the "learnt" part. Here is my completed KWL chart.

It was super fun learning about war. I felt very bad for all of the people who died in the war.
Please take a moment to commemorate their service to us.

Thank you! Have you ever read a book like this before? If so what one? Comment your answer! Bye ❤️

Maths Video

Hello my lovely people! Today I am going to show you my maths for week five! Enjoy!

So for maths, we did a bingo card. We had multiple things on there unrelated to maths, like reading, but our main one was maths. We did stairs to squares. We had a stair like structure ↓

We had to show how we saw how the pattern was growing, I did it like this ↓

After that we created a video on our working for the other questions, here is mine.
Video
Hope you enjoyed my video and blog and learnt something new! What is the hardest maths task you've ever learnt? Comment what it was! See you all! Bye! ❤️

Discrimination Art!

Hi everybody! Welcome back! Today I am going to show you some art about discrimination. Please don't hate on me because my picture is dark, it was meant to be like that, sorry if it annoys you. Anyways, enjoy the image!

If you can't read what the story says, it says: "When I was young, I had a running race with one of my male friends, he won, but told me, "It's ok, your fast for a girl". This has happened multiple times, even if I won."

It was fun creating this masterpiece. And now I will tell you how! So first of all, we had to draft our story, slogan, and image. Then once we got it checked off, we had to take our picture. I had a LOT of trail and error until I got the final product. We used an image editing website to edit our picture to perfection. Then we used another website to take the background off. Next we stuck our image wherever we wanted on our poster. After that we wrote our story, then our slogan, and last but not least drew our picture. And voila, a masterpiece was born!

Hope you liked my art! Do you have any stories about sexism? Bye! ❤️

Breakout EDU

Hello my lovelies! Welcome to today's blog! Today I am going to talk about Breakout EDU. Enjoy!

So I was just casually in a workshop, before I was quickly whisked away to the library. They "locked" a group of students in, and it was our job to escape. It was based off of the movie Wonder. We had to find clues to open the first hint box. Once we had actually figured this out, we found a torch inside the box, and of course, the hint. We opened it, as we'd felt something moving inside, but it just turned out to be the battery. We shone the torch on the back of each clue card and found some letters jumbled up, I can't remember the exact order we found them, but these are the letters: I, D, E, K, S, N, S. And it spelt kindness! That opened one of the locks. Sadly, I cannot say much more about each lock, it was quite a blur to me. Finally, after being promised 150 Banqer dollars, we unlocked the box. It took us 13 minutes in total.

I hope you enjoyed my blog post! Have you ever done a breakout before? Not necessarily a Breakout EDU, any kind! If so comment what it was and your experience and time! See you all next time! Bye! ❤️

Week 7 Reading Follow Up!

Hello my lovelies! Welcome to my blog! Today I am going to tell you about my reading follow up for this week. See you again soon, enjoy!

So this week, our goal was: how can we use questions to challenge the text, question the author, establish the authenticity of the text and state opinions? We were presented with some stories, and had to explain what opinion is. An opinion is your view of something, it isn't a fact, it is your idea of the said thing. Here's a situation to help understand. The All Blacks are the best rugby team*. Person A says that they are, and Person B, says they aren't. That is an opinion. Anyways, we had to then read an article out of the following: Australian Ball Tampering, Climate Change Protest, No Rep Sport.
I chose the Climate Change Protest. We had to read the article about it, and write the authors opinion. Then we had to write our opinion, and finally we had to write the similarities of each opinion, here's mine!

*I am using this as an example, did not mean to offend anyone. Thank you.

I hope you enjoyed my post! What is your opinion on the climate change protest? See you next time! Bye! ❤️

When I Say Bingo You Say Card! Bingo! Card! Bingo Card!

Hello my lovelies! Today we have yet another blog. About bingo card. Enjoy!

Bingo card was a fun task, we had a bingo card that looked like this

And we had to finish some of the tasks. I did the Carmen Sandiego one.
So first of all, we loaded into google maps. It told me that Carmen had stolen the Crown Jewels, and I had to find her. It loaded me into London and I had to ask tourists if they had seen her. They said yes, and gave me clues about Japan. I clicked the fly button and flew to Japan, and I saw her there. I asked around again and the clues pointed to Rio De Janeiro. They gave me clues as well. After that they took me to Dubai and we found Carmen! But wait. We got the wrong thief. Carmen was helping us all along. We are now looking for Tigress. Next we went to Sydney and then we found her!

Hope you enjoyed my blog! Have you been to any of these countries? Answer in the comments! Hope you enjoyed. Bye!

Teacher Strike

Hello, its me, Cleo. Today I'm going to talk to you all about my feelings on the teacher strike.

So, of course we all got a day off, as you do for strikes. So in case you don't know why we had a strike, well teachers were upset about the admin-teaching work balance. Because it was 60% admin, 40% teaching, or something along those lines. Personally I agree with the teachers, they deserve a life outside of school, not having to stay in and practically throwing the rest of their life out of the window. Sorry, a little over dramatic. Still, you shouldn't have to waste that amount of time for your job. The strike was very big, and as we drove into town we saw some teachers holding signs. By the time we went downtown though, the strike was over. Overall I support the teachers with their decision to strike. I just hope that this will all be sorted out over the next few months.

I hope you liked my blog today. What did you do on the teacher strike, and what do you think about the teacher strike? Comment your answer. See you all next time. Bye! ❤️
