Speeches For 2019

Hey! I have GREAT news..- Speeches!

We are doing our speeches on our PBL driving question. How can we speak up against discrimination? We have to do it on our PBL as well, so since I'm doing my PBL on sexism, I have to do my speech on sexism, and here is my intro! ↓↓↓

Sexism stereotypes. “Oh look, do you want to get that barbie, ooh, or what about that nail polish kit?” That gets asked every day to girls all around the world. “Hey, look at that cool truck. Or do you want that action figure?” That gets asked everyday to boys around the world. Why can’t boys be into barbies? Or girls be into trucks? 60 years ago, 1959, Barbie dolls were invented by Ruth Handler, she saw her daughter playing with paper dolls, and wanted to make a better way for GIRLS to play. Girls. Ripstik skate boards were invented in 2006, for BOYS. Even supermarkets are sexist. Having girls aisles and boys aisles. Children should absolutely NOT be raised this way! I’m sorry it’s come to this..- Wait, actually I’m not. It’s our fault this has happened. OUR fault children are sexist. STILL OUR FAULT that the world we live in is sexist. Are you going to continue this way?

My sub points are, Generations - Like how sexism is being passed on through our generations, People who don’t agree with stereotypes - How it affects the people who are against sexism, How we can stop this - Ideas on making our world less sexist, Society - How we can make changes to make this world a better place

This is only my intro, not my completed speech. Hope you enjoyed reading this, are you doing a speech this year? If so comment what it is about and your intro too! I also have another odd one out for you

Goals for Term 2

Hey everybody! Welcome! Today I am going to be talking to you about my goals for the term! See ya when you keep on reading!

So my goals for the term are so far based on work, rather then my social skills, but I guess I could add one or two about some of my skills. So yeah...

Goal 1: Keeping on top of my work. I am aiming for not letting any of my work go overdue, it will be a challenge, last term I couldn't really stay on top. I'm going to start doing work outside of school to ensure that I'm on top of it all, but that shouldn't be necessary right now.

Goal 2: Maths. I want to make sure my maths skill increase over this term. Maths is not my strong point, and I struggle with it a lot. My side goal for this is to stay out of tutoring. I have maths flash cards that I hope will improve my skills

Goal 3: Using my time wisely. This is not a growing problem for me. But it definitely can get in the way with your friends around, talking about conspiracy theories, or the latest meme.

Goal 4: Finish work early. The earlier the better, it would give me more time to finish other work that I need to catch up on.

So those are my goals for the term! What are your goals? Tell me in the comments! Bye and have a nice ❤️❤️. For a quick game, can you find the odd one out? Comment if you can! Good luck, and goodbye!

Cross Country!!

Hey! Today I'm gonna tell you about my real life horror story. Cross country...

So it all started with practice. Everybody knew it was coming, the school was quiet, tumbleweeds blew in the wind. The school was zombified. The bell rang. We sit on the floor "Cross country practice". Three words the teachers say. Everybody moves on. After a few hours, my turn arises. I wait outside, the games begin. I run and run, feeling my muscles let go. I collapse to the ground. The rain washes through my hair, sweat rolls down my cheeks. I come back half an hour later. I finish. The pain, the horror. And to think I have to do that again. Over and over, time and time again, I do this until the day comes. The dreaded day. The park spread out in front of us. Thunder cracked ahead of us. We sat. Watched, as the year eight boys started running. Cheers, mixed with cracks and bursts of thunder. They started solid. By half-way most of them had disappeared. The year 8 girls started. They pushed through, almost all of them made it to halfway. The year seven boys started, grunting as they went. It was our turn. We started running, my knees were quaking, my chest was heaving, my arms felt weak. It felt like my face was crying. I left my friends in my wake. I powered through, screaming in my head. I finished the first lap. I walked clutching my stitches. My body felt like a giant roasted marshmallow, I was half deaf from screaming in my head to much, and to make matters worse the quaking had spread to my upper legs. Thunder cracked above, motivating me to move. I ran hard. One lap to go. Screams of my name. Cheers, claps. I ran harder. My adrenaline kicked in. I thought about food. By then my whole body was quaking, but at the thought of food, it stopped. The screaming quietened down to cheers. I ran. I finished. I walked, acting like I didn't feel like I just ran a marathon. I collapsed on the ground tired, and waited for my friends. It was over. All over, and I didn't have to do it again until next year!

I hope you enjoyed my story, if you want a real quick recount of what actually happened, keep on reading

It wasn't that bad, the practising was hard, and there were no tumbleweeds, and it wasn't raining on either occasion, I was still quaking though. I did run, and I did walk a lot. It was very hard, but it was actually pretty fun! And I did actually collapse, but I'm fine. That story was just me being an over dramatic school kid. As per usual. *PLEASE READ* NOBODY WAS HARMED DURING CROSS COUNTRY/THE MAKING OF THIS BLOG.

Anyways. Like I said before, I hope you enjoyed my "Horror story". It was very fun to write. Have you ever written a "Horror story"? If so comment what it was about! See ya next time! Byeee!!

Reading Week 4!

Hi! Welcome to my blog! Today I am going to show you my reading work from week 4!

So during reading this week, we did predictions on the story Mata i Pusi, we did a first prediction on what we though the book was about, and these are my predictions... Prediction 1: About a family,

Prediction 2: About two girls. It was about a family, and a girl who had been discriminated against for her... Not going to tell! If you want to find out, you'll have to read the book! So that was the learn part of week 4. The create part was creating new predictions. We hadn't read the whole story, so we had to make predictions on what we thought would happen in the next part of the story, here is how! ↓↓↓

Hello? Hello? I'm down here! See me? Oh, good. Got your attention again. So.. you understand now? And of course, the share part! Exactly what I'm doing right now. Sharing! I hope you all enjoyed my blog for today! Do you have any predictions from stories? If so, comment it! Anyways, see you next time. Bye!

PBL Driving Question: How Can we Speak Up Against Discrimination?

How can we Speak Up Against Discrimination? That is our driving question for this term. Keep on reading to find out more...

How can we Speak Up Against Discrimination? If you don't know what discrimination is, I'll do a quick explanation. Discrimination is like sexism, racism, ableism, ageism and so on. If you don't know what those are, just pause reading this, open Google, search what it means, then keep on reading. I have decided that I am going to do a poetry slam on sexism stereotypes. A poetry slam is when you write a poem on said choice, then say your poem to a group of people. I am going to do it
on female/male stuff, such as like girls can only be into lipstick, nail polish and dresses, and boys only like cars, trucks and superheros. I thought this would be a good idea because people don't even realise they are being sexist. For PBL we are doing an open day, we are going live for a day, so you can see our work. Other options were Ted Talks, Speeches and Podcasts. So pretty much you can, let your imagination run free while creating this!

That concludes my blog for today. I hope you enjoyed finding out our PBL for this term. How can you speak up against discrimination? Answer in the comments! See ya guys. Have a nice day ❤️❤️!
